National Tooling and Machining Association, Indiana Chapter (INTMA)

Member survey, facilitated strategy session with the board of directors

What did INTMA need?

The Indiana Chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association (INTMA) helps Indiana manufacturers achieve business success through advocacy, education, networking, information, programs, and services. INTMA members supply the necessary precision tooling and machining for industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, appliance, nuclear, national laboratories, environmental, transportation, and much more.

INTMA was interested in continuing its legacy of success, driving greater engagement within its current membership base, and adding new members. To help achieve these objectives, the organization selected Eagle Creek Partners to assist with its strategic planning process for 2022.

Why is this project important?

The organization’s members are critical contributors to Indiana’s manufacturing industry. Helping to strengthen their operations, attract new workers to the field, and find new ways to engage the association’s membership will help ensure that it remains strong and vibrant for years to come.

What did Eagle Creek Partners provide?

Eagle Creek Partners conducted a member survey for INTMA and facilitated a half-day, in-person strategic planning retreat with its board of directors. The dynamic, structured session produced a fresh set of strategic initiatives (near and long term) for INTMA to develop and pursue further.

“Working with Eagle Creek Partners was a seamless process, start to finish. We appreciated the deep knowledge and expertise offered, and the sense of partnership and engagement ECP offered to our board planning process.”

Additional Resources

Is your organization struggling with member retention, engagement, and growth?

You can’t expect to attract and retain members without a good understanding of their “why”.  Do they feel connected to the organization, and each other? Are the resources you provide top-of-mind when they are facing day-to-day challenges?  What do you offer that they can’t get anywhere else?

Member needs change over time, and many would say the pace of that change has seen even greater acceleration over the past couple of years.

The good news: you probably already have much of what you need to identify shifts in member needs, but are you putting that data to good use? What’s missing that would really help give you insight into how your organization could anticipate and prepare to help its members address the challenges that lie ahead?
